This charming and secluded hill station is located among four mountains and it is known for its salubrious climate which prevails all round the year.   1. Punganavoor lake

A short walk will offer a breath taking view of the Punganavoor lake, an artificial lake of 57 sq meters. Along the lake is a  neatly maintained green trail  engulfed by tall trees and a beautiful garden. The  Yelagiri Hills Development and Tourism Promotion Society runs the Boat Club that offers  enchanting boat rides with pedal and row boats.

Murugan Temple

Yet another crowd drawing destination is the historical Murugan Temple, again situated at a stone throw’s distance from the resort. A short flight of steps uphill offers a panoramic view of the lush greenery at a bird’s eye point of view.

Trekking

Swami Malai,  Javadu Hills and Palamathi Hills offer a great spot for trekking.

You can see the clouds touching the lush green hills in early morning- an amazing sight. You can hire locals from the village to help you as guide on your trek.

Jalagamparai Waterfalls 

Jalagamparai waterfalls is a 5 km trek from Yelagiri downhill. Its a tough trek, but the view of the valley is truly rewarding.

Science / Educational

Vainu Bappu Solar Observatory : One of the largest solar observatories, it is situated in Kavalur near Yelagiri.

Farm visits

The Nature Park in Yelagiri is one of the most peaceful and tranquil places to visit, it is situated right in the lap of nature, offering some of the most stunning views. This park is listed as one of the best places to see in Yelagiri.
